Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (“NGen”) is a not-for-profit organization that matches manufacturing companies with new technologies to drive advanced manufacturing in Canada. We are the engine of the Canadian government’s ambitious investment in the Advanced Manufacturing Supercluster, matching federal funds and private investments to industry-led projects. 

We promote technology adoption, skills improvements and greater collaboration between technology and manufacturing to help Canadian companies of all sizes navigate the global shift to advanced manufacturing. We use data to link companies, researchers, and investors so they can work together to invent new products or processes. 

NGen is a proud member of a national network of five Canadian, industry-led innovation superclusters. By 2023, the federal government has committed to investing up to $950 million in its five superclusters to drive major economic, social, and industrial benefits for the country. 

Responsibilities:

During the Data Analyst Co-op program, you can expect to work on many aspects of a project: 

  • Support data and reporting projects 
  • Develop, manage, and maintain data templates 
  • Execute Data pulls for enterprise business intelligence
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations 
  • Document data reporting processes with current process owners 
  • Construct and maintain annual, monthly, and weekly reports. 
  • Work along side Data Manager to train and improve IBM Watson and Natural Language Instances 
  • Improve and monitor IBM Cloud services. 
  • Support IT infostructure. 
  • Ensure data governance and security is provided. 
  • Develop Cyber Security reports and training.   


Qualifications:

  • 1-2+ years of experience in Data related projects like Modeling and ETL processes within Enterprise systems & Modern Analytic platforms: data lake, data warehouse, Datamart, dimensional models, ETL processes
  • Post-Secondary Degree or working towards studies in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or Mathematics
  • Experience in data visualization PowerBI required.

  • Experience working with SQL and relational database
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking skills. 
  • Understanding and interest in Advanced Manufacturing in Canada. 
  • Experience SharePoint and Office365 products. 
  • Understanding of Cloud Computing Services, what they are and how they work. 
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail and analytical skills 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Demonstrates a positive can-do attitude. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. 
  • Experience in start-up fast paced, deliverables-based environment is an asset.
