About 3D Que Systems Inc.:

3DQue was established in November 2018 to automate 3D printers and print farms. It’s Quinly™ platform is now on fdm printer farms in over 20 countries and has autonomously delivered more than 3 million prints since being launched in October 2020. 3DQue automates the most time consuming jobs in production. 3DQue has developed an AI-driven vision system to watch for print failures from first layer through to layer shift, underextrusion, warping, and more.

Project Objectives:

  • Detect 13 failures to a commercially-viable level of certainty
  • Automate response to 14 failures and have technology learn organization-specific responses (e.g. one company might cancel a print with underextrusion whereas another may just want alerts)
  • Autocorrect at least 4 types of failures
  • Commercialize QuinlyVision™

What THEY bring to the table:

Our SQUINT™ (subpixel change detection for Quinly) technology finds print failures 100X faster than existing failure detection meaning failures are identified as quickly as 0.2 seconds as opposed to minutes. We have a unique 3D vision technology that allows the failure detection to “see around corners” even while printing is in progress.

What YOU will bring to the table:

We are looking for one or more Canadian partners to conduct large scale testing of the AI on fdm 3D printers. Ideally, we would like to work with an organization or group of organizations that print with a wide range of materials and produces parts with many different geometries. The partner would need to provide funding for the project.
