About Vidir:

    Develop program for robot welder to generate it’s own weld and movement code based on a 3D CAD model with some weld symbology input. Similar to a CNC mill, or laser cutter, the welder would be able to generate travel paths and weld on/off inputs based on the 3D info of the design.

    Project Objectives:

    • Identify joints requiring welding from the 3D CAD part
    • “See” the part in real time on the welding table
    • Accept manual input on weld size and weld type from operator
    • Perform accurate weld on part for production line

    What THEY bring to the table:

    • Welding expertisee

    • Supply of accurate parts to be welded together

    • Creation of required jigs and tables, etc.

    • Understanding of the market requirements in a 1 piece flow welding environment

    What YOU will bring to the table:

    • Creation of the program that would take a general welding robot and remove the requirement for manual input into the coding through either the pendant or by manually moving the welding torch (as in the case of a cobot) and replace it with the ability for the robot to program the weld path on its own.
