Inspection 4.0 extracts meaningful quality signals during complex processing, combines data from different sensors, and continuously monitors the signals, individually or collectively, to capture any anomalies during the process. Anomalies are sources of defects and production issues. The continuous monitoring system also provides an intelligent real-time feedback module.​
 
This project deploys this validated system to enable proactive quality monitoring in processes and production lines beyond the current usecase in MIG/TIG welding monitoring or beyond the current automotive production lines.​

Project Objectives:

  • Adapt Inspection 4.0 for intelligent monitoring of advanced processing operations​
  • Installation and testing of a unit of the system in production line for validation
  • Validate system scalability through distributed installation and parallel monitoring of multiple production cells

  • Enterprise software platform for ML/AI deployment.
  • Data pipeline development and installation, including data transfer over wifi pipeline and real-time analytics platform.

What YOU will bring to the table:

  • Manufacturers with production lines consisting of complex processing and high quality control requirements (Ideal applications, battery cell/tray manufacturing, shipbuilding, pipe manufacturing, etc.​)
  • Expertise in execution and monitoring of the core operation, e.g. laser welding.
  • Expertise in robotic and PLC for potential integration of intelligent feedback.
