Companies to pitch ideas and partnerships at CMTS

Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen) will host its second call for Supercluster projects with a collaboration event to be held as part of this October’s Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show in Toronto. Companies will present their project ideas from 3 to 5 PM on Wednesday, October 2 in a session open to all attending the high-profile industry show.

“NGen is looking for manufacturing and technology companies to bring their most transformative ideas forward for funding,” says John Laughlin, NGen’s Chief Technology Officer, who runs the Supercluster program. “We want advanced manufacturing projects that have big commercial potential and will leave a lasting benefit for Canada beyond the life of the project.”

The CMTS collaboration event will feature presentations by companies that have developed project ideas and are looking for partners to form a consortium to deliver the project. Projects generally require at least three partners, including an SME, to be eligible for Supercluster funding.

Any company interested in pitching an idea at CMTS can fill out the following form to see if their project qualifies. If you have any questions please send to Jenn MacLean at project@ngen.ca

The CMTS collaboration session builds off NGen’s highly successful inaugural event in Kitchener last April when about 450 attendees heard project proposals that launched the NGen pipeline for Supercluster funding. CMTS is billed as Canada’s largest manufacturing event and marks another opportunity to discover which companies are pitching NGen and looking for consortium partners.

It’s a one-stop opportunity to engage with the Advanced Manufacturing Supercluster, find partners for potential projects, and meet other leaders in advanced manufacturing. More information on the event is available on the CMTS web site.
